Ricky Burns believes next month’s fight against Kevin O’Hara is the most important of his career so far.

The 26-year-old will defend his Commonwealth featherweight title for the third time in Glasgow and is hoping victory will take him closer to a world title shot.

Capital boost for Purdham

Club captain Rob Purdham has committed his future to Harlequins by signing a new contract that will run until the end of 2011.

The 29-year-old joined from Whitehaven in 2002 when the Super League side were then known as the London Broncos.

The loose forward, who represented England in last year’s World Cup, has gone on to make over 150 appearances for the capital club.
