Ryan Giggs was last night crowned PFA Footballer of the Year despite starting just 12 Barclays Premier League games this season.
The Wales veteran picked up the award for rolling back the years with his performances for Manchester United.
But critics have argued that Giggs, 35, has had too little playing time to justify winning the award, which was voted for by his fellow professionals.

Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed his desperation to beat Manchester United and end his barren spell at Arsenal.

Mark Schwarzer has defended Fulham’s goal-shy strikers ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash at home to Stoke City.
Between them, Bobby Zamora and Andy Johnson have scored just nine League goals this season and that is the principle reason why only four other teams have netted less than Fulham’s total tally of 33 goals.
